Lecture Series

The Developmental Disabilities Lecture Series is a community and continuing education program provided for state agencies, community provider agencies, people with disabilities, and family members to enhance their knowledge and skills in innovative approaches and state-of-the-art practices for people with developmental disabilities. Eight sessions are held per year, attended by over 1,500 people. Nationally known speakers with expertise in their field serve as faculty for the program, each conducting a morning presentation and providing technical assistance in an afternoon forum.

Training Opportunities

Included in this online Training Calendar are training courses and other opportunities sponsored by The Boggs Center. In addition to the events listed, The Boggs Center is also providing training directly to school districts, employment agencies, provider agencies, people with disabilities, and families.

Continuing Education

Some professional organizations require their members to participate in professional development activities to increase their expertise in their practice or field and to keep their licenses current.

Continuing Education (CE) is the term used to recognize the activities approved by certain organizations for professional development.

Continuing education recognition is available to participants for many Boggs Center courses, the Developmental Disabilities Lecture Series, and Conferences.

Continuing Education earned through this program cannot be used for college credit.

Student Opportunities

The Boggs Center prepares students to support individuals with disabilities and their families and to work in New Jersey’s service delivery system through yearlong traineeships, internships, research projects, and course work.

In addition to these programs, Boggs Center faculty and staff teach courses; serve as guest lecturers; supervise practica, student projects, internships or field placements; and advise on papers, theses and dissertations.
