February is Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month. For the 10th year, Jewish communities around the world recognize JDAIM with programming to raise awareness and create momentum year round. Shelly Christensen, co-founder of JDAIM, and author of the new book From Longing to Belonging: A Faith Community Guide to Inclusion of People with Disabilities is joined by Aaron Kaufman, Senior Legislative Associate, The Jewish Federations of North America. Gabrielle Kaplan-Mayer, Director of Jewish Learning Venture’s “Whole Community Inclusion” in Philadelphia, will discuss how JDAIM grew from 4 communities to a global initiative, advocacy for the rights of people with disabilities, and easily replicable programming for any faith community.
